A Gouda tobacco inn or a hospital brothel ?Goudsche tabagie of gastvrij hoerehuijs By Don Duco Abstract: This article describes a find of 37 early clay pipes from a location near the Gouwe river in the centre of Gouda. The group is of interest because of the early dating from 1605 till 1628. The styes of the pipes are discussed, including the finishing and the makers' marks. It appears that almost all the material is made in Gouda before the first pipemaker is recorded. Sorry, we do not have an English text of this article available.
